Centralized governments controlling their citizens pay a dear price indeed. States surveilling, countering, directing, controlling it’s citizenry experience lower levels of education, business creation, GDP, health, survivorship. Gross assertions you say? Let us examine a key data point …………… The percentage of a country’s government spending as compared to its’ annual GDP is a decent vector for detecting central state control over its’ nation …………… The top five developed countries with the greatest governmental economic control, are: 1) Finland with 57.5% of GDP fueled by the State, 2) France at 57.2%, 3) Austria 56.3%, 4) Belgium 55%, 5) Denmark 53%. Developed countries at the bottom of state control are: 1) Ireland 25%, 2) Switzerland 33%, 3) USA 36%, Australia 38%, South Korea 40%. The OECD average is 42.6% …………… Are these “top” five controlling countries actually advancing their societies relative to the bottom five? And, the bottom five spenders, they don’t care about their citizens relative to the top five spenders? …………… Neither can be further from the truth. In fact the opposite is true. Less government control equates to greater national success …………… Let us use a countrys’ GDP/Citizen ratio revealing comparative results between more and less government controlled nations. …………… WOW, who knew? The countries with the highest GDP per citizen have the least government involvement; Ireland # 1, Switzerland #2, United States #3, #4 Australia. The only anomaly is South Korea, which will change this year due to global A.I. growth ……………. The smallest government spenders all were more profitable than the countries with greater degrees of state spending …………… Suggesting that factors outside of government control contribute more to success than state interference; factors such as property rights, individual agency, freedom to operate, efficiency, productivity, innovation, education, health, human rights count far more than controlling governments misspending taxed riches …………... Central governments need to get out of the way and let us people do what we do best, get down to business. Let the people make, keep and spend the money. It just works. For everyone; governments included. Mushroom Nations are doomed, just look at the numbers above or face your sinking prospects below.
