Guns or Rice?
June 1 2026 | San Clemente California ………. Military spending globally has risen USD$104 Billion dollars every year the past 10 years; 2016 – 2025. That is USD$1 Trillion dollars over the past 10 years rising $150 Billion or more in 2026. Humans who have weapons can be destructive, Humans who have nutrition are productive…………….673 million humans live below the subsistence poverty line. If the trillions of dollars spent on military build-up were spent on a daily food diet, how many humans would be lifted out of food poverty into health and nutritional wellness? …………… Someone might say this analysis is ridiculous, for who can survive on rice alone? True that, so what if we added bananas, lentil beans, water and sardines to the rice? A daily diet of rice, beans, bananas, water, sardines sustaining, strengthening human life itself. That’s it, nothing more, nothing less……………. What might the choice between bombs and babies look like then? ………. Analysis of current wholesale food prices estimate rice at $1/pound, bananas at $.35 each, lentil beans at $2/pound, sardines at $1/pound, free water (someone might say free water does not exist)……………. 2,500 life sustaining calories daily changes a life. How many lives? 190,000,000 lives. 190 million people, 28-30%, lifted out of food poverty equating to the 8th largest country by population; Larger than Iran, Larger than Russia, Larger than North Korea, Larger than the Communist Party of China. ……………. 190 million new market players generating $2,000 annually on average yields new global GDP revenue of USD$380 billion; every year, forever. Dear global leaders, consider not increasing military spending $104 billion, instead, investing in food. Adding $380 billion Every Year to our planet. Not weapons growth, nutrition and human growth. So that 190 million humans can join the human race.
